Building A Wine Rack

To have our own personal collection of wine neatly placed in a wine rack can be something to admire and to brag about. There are many advantages and reasons why people love building their own wine rack. One of them is that you have the freedom to design the wine rack any way that you want it to be and to look like. Building a wine rack is an easy and enjoyable project, so here are the steps on how to do it.

You will need:

  1. Screws
  2. Hammer
  3. Wood
  4. Wine

Steps:

  1. First, determine the size of the wine rack. Some of the wine racks can fit on a kitchen counter so your favorite wine would come handy while others stand like bookshelves to show off a collection of wine. You need to design the wine rack to hold the bottles horizontally as this position keeps the cork wet and keep the debris out of the wine’s neck bottle.
  2. Then, construct the depth of the wine rack to at least seven inches. The deeper the wine rack, the less likely the ends of the bottles will stick out. The wine rack will also be steadier. Determine how many bottles you plan to store. There are two different ways to store wine bottles which are in a flat box like slot and in a diamond shaped slot.
  3. Next, design the rack with a large box like slots or diamond shaped slots to accommodate several bottles in one slot. This will save you more spaces when you have a little space and a lot of bottles. Make slots that accommodate only one bottle at a time to make it easier to access the bottles.
  4. Secure the joints for their intended weight. Screw holes into the wood before applying the screw to avoid wood cracking. If you decide to build your wine rack in a cellar, make sure to use the types of wood that can endure the environment.
