Remove Ink from Clothes
Ink stains on clothing are something that most people have to deal with although it can be pretty tough to get out. However, if you do it with patience and persistence, most of ballpoint pen ink stains can be removed at the end. You can do some testing on similar scraps of fabric before proceeding to remove ink from your clothes. Here are the methods on how to do it.
You will need:
- Rubbing alcohol
- Nail Polish Remover
- Liquid Bleach
- Laundry Pretreatment
- Hair Spray
- Clean Cloth
- Paper Towels
- Sponges And Terry Cloth Washcloths
Steps:
- First, use a dampen sponge and rub it gently on the ink stain to remove it as much as possible. Let the spot dry before the next step.
- Then, place the ink stain on the affected area face down on a clean cloth or paper towel. Use a hairspray to spray the back side of the stain. You can also use rubbing alcohol or a nail polish remover.
- Next, use a clean terry cloth washcloth to blot the back side. Blot as much as you can to remove the ink.
- Apply laundry pretreatment on the stained area. Use your finger to spread the pretreatment on the stained area gently. Leave it for several minutes.
- Set your washing machine to warm setting and then wash your clothing with the laundry pretreatment. You can add extra washing detergent too.
- When the washing cycle is finished, check your clothing whether the stain is gone. If not, then have another cycle of washing machine to rinse the stain off completely.
Hang your clothing to air dry it.
