Shrinking Polyester and Spandex

As polyester and spandex are synthetic fibers, they may not change shape as much as natural fibers like wool and cotton do. So, if you want to shrink your clothes made from polyester and spandex if you realize that the size is too big for you after buying them, then this is what you can try to shrink the fabric:

Step 1. Get your clothes into the washing machine with high temperature water, minus the washing detergent, for around ¾ of an hour.

Step 2. When the first washing is finished, place it into the dryer immediately. Put the dryer on a high temperature. When the machine stops, continue drying for the next 20 minutes.

Step 3. Then try your clothes to see whether it has shrunk to your desired size. If it still does not fit, repeat Steps 1 and 2 without adding any detergent. Just use water.

The washing and drying is designed to make the polyester and spandex to contract.
