Shrink Your Cotton Hats
Buying clothes may not necessary be such an easy task when sizes don’t match you perfectly. Hats are not exceptions even if they look pretty on you and getting a tailor-made hat may seem far fetch for most but the good news is you can try to shrink your hats if they are made of cotton. Here’s how:
- Wash your hat by hand or machine. Use hot temperature water but this is more suitable for a light colored hat. If your hat has dark colors, whole or part, use warm temperature water instead.
- After the washing, put your hat in the dryer on the hottest setting on tumble dry mode. The tumble dry action works most effectively in the shrinking process.
- Keep an eye on the dryer and take your hat out from the dryer every quarter of an hour or 15 minutes to try on. This process will give you the option to continue or stop the drying until you get that perfect fit.
- Take care of not over-drying your hats. When you pull your hat out from the dryer, let it cool down before wearing on your hat. After all, you are not drying your head just the hat.
