Would you not like to look like a star fit to walk on the red carpet after taking time out to get your hair groomed? With high expectation, a bad hairstyling will just give anyone a bad mood. What is even worst is when your hairstylist refuses to take responsibility to remedy your hair.
The salon business has bloomed over the years with the recognition as a respected profession and with the number of entries increasing by the year, competition has become very stiff. Nevertheless, hairstylists still have our sympathy because of the low wages and poor remuneration package they receive. Therefore, giving them an extra reward through tipping is a common sign of appreciation and portrays how happy you are with their service.
Although, a tip within 10-20% on top of the bill is the usual recommendation, if you are not satisfied with the service provided then do not take into mind that you are forced to give the tip. Remember you are only responsible to pay the actual bill and that you are not obligated to give any separate gratuity in the first place even if your hairstylist may feel offended or put on a sour face.
Such is the case that rewarding a tip is a subjective matter. If your hairstylist takes grace in his or her work, he or she will take the non-tipping as a constructive feedback and would want to enquire from you of any criticism that you have after the salon treatment. He or she should realize the mistake done and offer to give a compliment styling for your next visit or a discounted rate to prove his or her worth.
Should your hairstylist think highly of himself or herself and refuses to bulge from the mistake committed on your crown, then you know you have made the correct decision in keeping the money and you are free to seek other hairstylists’ services which are plenty for you to choose from. After all, it is the hairstylist’s call to regenerate recurring visit or let his or her pride to get into the way and run the risk of losing a customer.
